Has anyone taken an interior design course?

I'm thinking about signing up to an interior design course, not necessarily for a career change, but just out of interest and because I'd like to learn more about the principles of interior design.

Has anyone else done this? Was it any good? Would you recommend it? Which type did you do - residential, online? How does it work? I work full time so it would need to fit around that.
