IDEAS HALLWAY/LIVING ROOM
Comments (4)I like the idea of the porch using the last bit or garage. It looks like you have a great space to make it a lovely entrance with shoe/coat storage, a large mirror and a bench perhaps. If you decide not to knock down the wall to the lounge and retain the entrance hall, you could consider putting in some high level internal windows to let some light into the hall from the other rooms. Also, if it's dark then run with it rather than fight it. Paint it a gorgeous dark colour (or wallpaper) and install a run of slim, beautiful glass pendant lights. It will be so gorgeous and dramatic when you enter, then if your other rooms are lighter they will appear so much brighter in contrast....See MoreHallway - long and narrow with loads of light - what to do?
Comments (14)Thank for all the comments. We will get the radiator cover. As for the paneling...I not sure this is in keeping with the Scandanavian theme...eventhou the master bedroom does have paneling which is very nice. We will likely get a bespoke storage unit made on the other side of the bathroom. Something a little fancier to the one already there which houses the washing machine/ dryer and laundry products. Overtime I think we will get a better feel for what works best - art, picture frames, mirrors etc... Keep the suggestions coming!!...See MoreVictorian Top Floor flat layout ideas
Comments (3)I'd get an architectural firm in, you may find one with structural engineers on board. They will then be best to advise on the suitability of the lofts for the extension, where to place windows etc. Also, book an appointment in advance with the local council, look at other peoples roofs around you. Ask the council what they may allow. You can then give the info to the architect. You may find that being in a conservation area, they will mind what's at the front, but not so much at the back for instance....See MoreWhat is the best hard wearing paint for a narrow dark flat hallway
Comments (8)I’ve fairly recently moved to using Mylands Marble Matt emulsion. It’s a similar price to Farrow and Ball (maybe a tad more), but is bomb prove and scrubbable. 5 litres retails at £91, but I’ve discovered that Paint Depot online sell for £81 and also usually have a 10% off offer. When I bought from them, the paint was shipped direct from Mylands... Dulux Trade diamond Matt is their really tough version - I found it to be cheaper than the Mylands if going for white or magnolia. However not massively cheaper when you start mixing colours....See Moreflosunshine
