Do you have a dining table in the same open plan space - if so, I'd hang a pendant above the dining table and not have any above the peninsula. I saw something someone recently said (controversially) about lights above islands/peninsulas looking like warming lamps and now I can't un-see that. You might find that a recessed spot in the ceiling (assuming you have some of these planned already for the rest of the kitchen) lights up the peninsula just fine and you don't need any pendants dangling down and getting in your face. In a normal-sized kitchen/diner I'd only have pendants above island/peninsula or dining table, not both - and preference would almost always be above dining table.

For me, I wouldn’t put any extra lighting above the breakfast bar as it could look a little cluttered, but I would put something over the dining table, either your current light or something else. As to radiators I’m not a fan of vertical radiators (I know I’m in the minority here!) as I find them quite intrusive in a room. Colour depends on the colours in the room. As you have a pale kitchen then I would go with a light colour. You can’t go wrong with white when the room has a light and airy vibe.
