need help for bedroom wall light
Comments (8)Does it supply sufficient light for reading, if indeed you plan to use it for reading? I like the looks of it but please check out how much light it provides if you want to read in bed. Thanks for the explanation of a bed valance. In the US we usually refer to it as a duster or bed skirt....See MoreInserting some colour
Comments (6)You should take this opportunity to pull your colours together. Decide on your new shade (mulberry, peonie, any of those lovely muted pinks might work - it's impossible to dictate an exact shade from a photograph) then hit your local department store or fabric shop to find patterned fabrics that feature your grey / eaux de nil / muted pink spectrum. If you don't find any one fabric that works, don't worry, pick a couple and have them made into cushions using strips of both fabrics. I similar idea is to have curtains in one fabric, trimmed in another. And lastly, because you will have chosen a flower-pink, you can indulge in fresh flowers in your bedroom! Have fun....See MoreChenille or crushed velvet headboard?
Comments (40)Hey Tani. That's a shame you haven't found one yet. I finally found window shutters tall enough this week after month of searching ( and on the same day of emailing for a quote to have them made typically!) I do think the upholstered frame would be relatively quick and easy? In terms of the door, if you go for a single door, I would pop a bit of architrave on top. I Think the silver leaf could be very expensive and the delicacy of it may be at odds with the thickness of the door ( or there again that could actually make it work!). I quite like the idea of double doors but how tall is the ŵall? I think if you go for that option I would personally have a very distressed effect with white and grey paint, something like the attached ( hopefully less work). I would pile on the texture with the bed though https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/201767350/headboard-vintage-door-replica-by-foo?ref=market...See MoreHeadboard under window
Comments (3)Beds can look good in front of windows. I do agree with Mehdia re loss of light and it would be good to see pics once available (many windows also seem to be off centre when in this predicament!). I also agree with you re what it looks from outside. Shutters (or cafe ones) would be ideal but you could consider bottom up blinds, these are sheer but there are non-sheer ones available. You could layer these with curtains (or do the same with shutters)...See MoreUser
