Muted tartans and plaids. Subtle, with historic precedence, or at least an updated pattern with a nod to the "original". Younger people, in particular, are longing for a sense of history and nostalgia in their design, albeit with an irreverent streak!

I'm really happy that we made this decision, my husband less so after this took him the whole day. Don't think I'll be get him to agree to having any herringbone tiles in the bathroom! We will be having pale grout due to the risk of it bleeding in to the tiles, although this picture gives an idea of what the dark grout would look like.

Hi Oh So Kel. Just wondering if you did manage to find something similar to this at a sensible price? I'm looking for something similar myself. Have found a decent option at Topps Tiles but would prefer something with a marble effect. Did you have any success?

I think the bottom one in brushed stainless steel. As you say if no wood then why accentuate that with an oak threshold strip. I have brushed stainless steel at the junction between an oak floor and a neutral carpet. I think it looks much better than a thick oak threshold strip. I have oak doors too. I would opt for the 25mm version as the 14 leaves very little tolerance for neat finishing. Just measured the width of mine, they are 25mm. Finish is very tidy.
