Comments (29)Could work well, best thing to do is take one of the cushions with you, from the sofa that you're keeping and see if it looks ok next to the new one.. It's a really nice sofa, so hopefully it will match well. The trouble you'll have with trying to match two different sofas and a chair is that they'll all have slightly different tones, hence why a few of us said go completely different with the colour. Personally i'd go with the brown leather...........it can't clash and is easy to match a change of wallpaper or carpet as it's a timeless classic. Leather lasts infinitely longer than fabric and so you don't need to keep changing sofas when you change colour schemes. My daughter rues the day that she bought a fabric sofa with 2 kids! - I did try and tell her, but you know what kids are like....See MoreNeed your assistance to complete the decoration of my bedroom
Comments (1)Hi Amel, There are lots of questions to ask you. As its a bedroom, I would choose soft colours and keep it neutral. The lighting is very important in a bedroom so I would first change the light and find a modern light that produces a soft glow/ Yellow soft light. Or just change the light bulb :-) if budget is an issue For the curtains, I would go for Roman Blinds as it saves space and you won't need to use as much fabric. I would add a sheer blind too to use during the day. ( you will be able to see out but during the day no one will be able to see in. At night you would use the Roman Blinds Colour of the walls should be nice and gentle colour, for example, Skimming Stone ( Farrow and Ball) or French Grey Pale ( Little Green ). Ask your decorator to mix these colours for you at B&Q with Dulux Colour. Most decorators know this trick to save money on paint. The carpet I would also go for a soft touch grey tone. Most Carpet shops will be able to give you a huge selection of reasonably priced carpets. Please make contact if you have any questions Cigal Kaplan Interiors...See Morehouse redesign assistance
Comments (5)Hi Chris, The floor plan of the house looks like it is screaming potential. Would suggest that the best approach for you at this stage would be to really try and refine your brief and what you want to achieve. Is your intention to live in the property or flip it and move on? Budget is something that also needs to be carefully considered early on, and your answer to the previous question can start to help to define this. The internal layout, will in some ways be driven by the understanding of the two previous points, but as mentioned, looking at the floor plan there is a lot of potential and plenty of space to achieve a nice result. Generally as architects once we’ve helped our clients refine the above, our approach with this sort of project is to sketch out a few internal layout options, with the positives and negatives of each one. From those options and subsequent discussions we would create a more refined final option which can then be taken to builders and contractors for cost estimates. At that point you start to get a much better idea of how much your project will cost if certain areas of the design can then be pushed further or need to be stripped back a little - that’s not intended to be a sell - just to try and give you an idea of how you might start to approach the next steps....See Moreceiling lighting in a room with sloping ceiling
Comments (3)If you have access to a power socket in the room you could look at some kind of plug in pendant light which you could hang from the ceiling over the dining area. You will have to ensure you have enough cable to do this and think about the neatest way to run the cable from the socket. Something like this - you could choose a shade to suit your decor https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/544479524/linen-cable-plug-in-pendant-light-black Or you could look at a complete ready made product like this (but they will have fixed cord length) https://www.dunelm.com/product/marsden-plug-in-flex-set-pewter-industrial-1000183106?defaultSkuId=30713764&branchCode=0985&ds_c=Lighting_Wall+Lights_[GOO-LIA-LIGHTING-WALLCEILING]&gclid=Cj0KCQjww4OMBhCUARIsAILndv5FzSuSkFZAk6gDnWX580UBNBFljQn8vITfkc6bIWu0WwpOE8lEJ8YaAtAuEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds...See More- 10 years ago
