Lighting Dining Rooms Design Dilemma

We have a garden room leading from the kitchen where we eat and sit. It has no ceiling lighting and can take only limited floor lighting. The ceiling slopes from back of space to low glassed wall at front. We would like some lighting over dining table and would welcome some ideas.

If you have access to a power socket in the room you could look at some kind of plug in pendant light which you could hang from the ceiling over the dining area. You will have to ensure you have enough cable to do this and think about the neatest way to run the cable from the socket.

Another option to create more ambient light (but this won't work for creating overhead lighting) you could look at battery operated picture lights for the walls or if you don't mind having to have an electrician in the you could look at wired in wall lights

There isn't room for a floor lamp, unfortunately, as I think this could look quite good. There are already wall lamps but they don't give off much light - more like a wall-wash, if you follow; so it needs something overhead as well. I'm changing the carpet for a lighter colour and painting the walls winter white instead of a deeper cream, which should also help.

Hi Lovely, I agree as long as your rose has a flexible flex without the rod you should be fine. Basically a flex that can dangle at an angle, like the image below. Hope that helps? Thanks Rukmini Patel Interior Design

I have two shower rooms under a sloping roof. Provided there is enough height overall, it works very well. Here are 3 shots of the en-suite. It is 1200mm wide (standard shower tray size). The 'glass' is 8mm acrylic, which is very cheap when compared to glass, though the fittings are NOT cheap. I have recently had a revamp, keeping the layout, and used continuous hinge, which is great. The only change was to move the radiator to a tall thin one inside the door beside the basin, because there really was not enough space to sit on the toilet without burning your bum!
