Hi. The room looks great. i do think if you want to add to it though you need pattern, texture and lighting as said before. In terms of colour you could add a warm colour or a warmish neutral for accessories, yellow, orange or a shade of red should work if not any neutral. As said before you don't need to add lots just a few. Swap one of your existing cushions for something deep in texture and add another patterned coloured cushion. Add plant or herbs in the kitchen along with some wooden chopping boards or something in wood for texture. Maybe a ceramic vase for the table and then a floor light for the corner by the sofa with maybe a lamp table and lamp for the other side.

I've seen a property with a product like the one pictured over much of it and the gaps between runs (which look a different colour) plus the finishing of corners made it look quite bad. In my opinion. As a Gold Medal Winning Garden Design perfectionist.

I agree remove the wallpaper. It’s quite hard work but certainly not difficult. You will then be left with a plastered wall that you can paint. Use a very Matt which seems to disguise any lumps and bumps more than something with a silk finish. Most paint firms do a nice Matt emulsion. Dulux is a perfectly good cheaper paint, or Johnson’s will mix any of the posh brands at a much reduced price. Wickes also do some nice colours. If you decided to paint the wallpaper it wouldn’t be the end of the world. I did that when we moved into our first house as we were poor as church mice then. However, it will make the wallpaper much harder to remove in the future. If the walls look a bit tatty, have the more public areas skimmed such as the living room. Plasterers in my area charge £250-350 a day, depending where you are, but you will be amazed how much they can do in a day! Leave the bedrooms unskimmed but painted until funds are available. I still have a wallpapered ceiling in my bedroom which I can’t face stripping down! It’s painted white so not too horrendous. With the kitchen just paint the units. It’s a bit labourious but it will lift the whole scheme. Luckily the worktop is white. The tiles could also be painted with a tile paint. A home can be tarted up quite cheaply with a few tins of paint and it’s something anyone can do, then when funds allow you can look at replacing the kitchen etc. Good luck with it all. Thanks for clarifying. If you really struggle to find an exact pattern match (items are discontinued all the time) maybe choosing another pattern and going over it might work.You could also try contacting Brewers for the exact patterned wallpaper as they have a lot of really knowledgeable sales personnel and you might get lucky. Brewers in Winchester was a wealth of knowledge when I was painting my house there a few moves ago.
