You definitely don’t want to box this up! Any storage space is valuable and turning small space into study will add value. The other option is to make it into a cosy day bed/snug. You could add some wall lights which would really make it feel like a mini room off the main one.

Just a thought - have you considered using the lounge/snug as an open plan living/ dining kitchen area, connecting with the garden room and make the existing dining room as a TV lounge area ? The current kitchen seem to be in a sort of corridor.

Sorry, I've just found out that this one is not yours. Post some photos, it will really help. Black next to white creates the strongest constrast possible, so not a good idea for anything you want to disappear. I would look to your flooring to see what colours are in the concrete affect tiles (they won't be pure grey, viirtually nothing is).

I’m in a 1930s terrace, and my hall is tiny too! Yo made me chuckle with your acrobatics to enter your house......... All the houses in my road are the same on the outside, but configured slightly differently inside. My neighbours house has a much bigger hall leading to the kitchen, but it eats into their sitting room which is much smaller than mine. You could remove the wall into the kitchen, or move it further into the kitchen giving you a wider hall? Or as CWD suggests adding, maybe a porch to the front crating a bigger hall? A floor plan or pics will help envisage your problem.
