Lovely kitchen - very nice design and beautifully finished! Wrt splashbacks - glass is probably the first choice, with near infinite posibilities wrt colour, print or even a hint of sparkle. Decoglaze have some fantastic options in their Decokiln range if you want to add some interesting textures. If cost is an option, you could consider acrylics, as you do not need to worry about heat. As a last thought, would you consider a feature geometric tile, such as these from Ted Baker? If used sparingly as an accent, they could work really well with your design and colour scheme. Behind your range i'd use a stainless steel sheet, Ebay's cheap, but just google stainless steel sheet, available cut to size all over the place. This one for instance is quite a size 2000mmx1000mm Ebay ( Stainless Sheet ). You can then use the car paint and the metal will take the heat as will the paint. Glass would look good - give you a little reflectance without mirroring everything on the worktop. Also could be a subtle way to introduce some colour. If you use clear glass with screw back type fixings, then you can change the colour now and then by painting the wall behind if you're nervous about colour, or think you would want to change the look now and then. Another option is a stainless steel, which again would add in a little light reflecting but in a grey tone that would work well with what you have.

I LOVE the sound of your kitchen! The Ikea Bodarp in the grey-green is such a glorious colour, and the contrast with the teracotta is just.... *chefs kiss*. You've done amazing work so far pulling everything together. I personally love those two contrasting colours together, with some further muted, more neutral tones in there to really make it pop and compliment the colours you've already chosen. Have you thought about doing a mood board? They're good fun and worth having a play at. Pull in the colours you've used so far and then have a dabble with the additional colours you're thinking of. Personally, I love that what you've done so far and think it has a huge amount of personality!
