First a disclaimer, I am not a plumber or heating engineer. However, I have decades of experience in the building and mechanical engineering trades. Electric underfloor heating is much like the element in a kettle or electric blanket, all of the element is heated by its resistance to the passage of current, if,at any one point the element is covered or insulated it will become hotter and hotter, creating problems for itself and whatever is around it. The tubing in a wet system has water at whatever temperature is chosen, flowing through it, the tube cannot get hotter than the water flowing through so in theory there is no reason why a rug should cause any more problem on a wet heated floor than it would on any other floor. I have worked in a couple of properties where they had underfloor wet systems and both had rugs, no mention was made of problems. Hi there - Definitely agree that you need a rug to tie it altogether, good thing is you have chosen an accent colour, Teal. I would suggest to add a bit of colour to your rug and some pattern to stop it from looking too same-y if you went with a beige rug. Lovely rug and so many nice colours. You could try Shaded White (F&B) which is a stoney cream colour, China Clay Deep (which is a browny pink) by Little Greene or Smoked Trout (F&B). Stoney colours and dirty pinks look really good with blue.
