What colour to paint .
We have received this rug which fits our room beautifully but not sure what colour to paint etc .I ‘ m hoping to create a cosy living room but don t want it too dark as even though South facing the trees outside block light .Any help welcomed 😊

3 years agoGorgeous rug. Of course you could use a shade from the rug, but I think an F&B green like Mizzle and Pigeon would be lovely. I have Cromarty with a red Persian rug and it goes well together. Navy would also be nice but not for everyone. This is mine.

Comments (16)Beware of dark colours on a dark floor. We wanted a dark colour so chose a light floor - and it works, just. If I'm honest, I think it is a bit too dark, but it does look good and my wife loves it. It is F&B Mouse's Back. It also works because the kitchen is big and well lit - dark cabinets may make a galley kitchen feel a bit like a corridor i.e. oppressive. Comments (1)To get a clear view of what colour your windows and doors are i had a quick google, from the majority of the pictures no one had really painted render other than an off white however they have also mixed white stone and yellow brick so its a bit of a mixed bag. Comments (9)Another suggestion is Dulux Egyptian Cotton. I had it in my bedroom and it does have slight pink undertones so maybe worth getting a sample pot. It is quite similar to Skimming Stone. I suggest you paint your samples onto A4 cards and try them on different walls in the room stuck with some blue tack. I was advised to do this and it really helps. 3 years agoLovely rug and so many nice colours. You could try Shaded White (F&B) which is a stoney cream colour, China Clay Deep (which is a browny pink) by Little Greene or Smoked Trout (F&B). Stoney colours and dirty pinks look really good with blue.
