House Refurbishment

This picture shows what we found behind a modern gas fire in our Georgian Grade II terrace house. I would love to instal a Georgian period fireplace with open grate. Probably a wooden surround and open grate but not sure where to start. Will the flue be OK, do I buy the grate first, what about the finish on the interior. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Sue, Its best to get a chimney specialist in first to make sure that the fireplace flue is properly lined, and then they can advise the first steps to move forward. I am sure the end result will look great.

We offer full Project Management from design to completion in Scotland, this includes a 1-2-1 design service with HD rendering until you are happy with the designs, supply, and installation. I'm not sure of your location from the information I have available but if you are not in Scotland i'm sure you will find a local independent company that would be happy to help.

Decided to get the Professional in as suggested so Rotherham Fireplaces are coming to look on Thursday. So excited.
