Living room and dining room advice
Comments (22)The Persian rug is lovely. We have several (sitting room, study, hall, bedroom ..... they're a bit addictive), with fabric using a couple of the colours in each for stuff like cushions, curtains etc. with neutral walls. I agree with minnie about the patterns. To get the right colour combinations, at a reasonable price, you could find a company that does a range with the colour or colours you're looking for and then look for remnants on ebay, to get them at bargain prices. That's worked well for us. Stuff like this:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Schumacher-Curtain-Fabric-PASHA-PAISLEY-2m-POMEGRANATE-100-WOOL-/322509242456?hash=item4b170c8058:g:DwsAAOSw42JZAwWm And if you're looking for another rug to complement the one you've got, www.carpetu2.co.uk has a massive range on-line, at better prices than I've been able to find here. They're actually in Greece, but don't charge for shipping, which is very fast....See MoreUpstairs laundry room or second shower room?
Comments (12)We have an upstairs laundry room and I dry shirts and things I can't tumble on hangers on a rail. If the tumbler is on then the clothes dry really quickly. The max spin speed on my washing machine is 1400rpm, so clothes are really barely damp when they come out. We have a bathroom type fan to avoid the room getting damp. Re noise, I wouldn't put the machines against a wall where for example someone's headboard is the other side of it. But then again, I don't do any washing overnight. With the door ajar, you can't hear noise anywhere else upstairs. The machines are over the garage so I can't really say how much noise comes through the ceiling....See MoreShower room and utility design and colour scheme advice needed.

Comments (3)Thanks Carolina! my original plan was to switch the toilet and sink but it’s an old house so I think moving the toilet waste pipe would be a hassle. Although I don’t like the the toilet is near the window or right by the door!...See More- 10 years ago
