Comments (0)Hi, I have been playing around with most room/interior design apps out there but while they're pretty good at giving a general idea of space and layout, I haven't found one yet that allows me to import specific items or photos. Most of them offer a generic choice of furniture items and wall/floor treatments - not the ones I actually intend to buy or already own. As a result I end up with a nice looking fantasy room that hasn't got much in common with the room I'm working on other than its dimensions. Does anyone here know of an app that allows you to customise a space in more detail? I.e. treat walls in a room separately (for example, 1 brick wall, 3 walls painted), paint floorboards, import photos of specific items (furniture, lighting) into the design? I'm babbling but I hope it makes sense what I'm trying to say. Any help would be appreciated - thank you!...See MoreCan anyone recommend a brilliant 3D virtual home interior design softw

Even after knowing the basics it would take a lot of practice and extra learning to get professional and life-like results. Have a look around for night courses in your area, they may have an AutoCAD/Sketch Up one available if this is the route you're wanting to take. When I first started, I attempted to learn but found it was far too intricate and I just didn't have the time, I instead hired someone to do it for me. I would offer clients either a computer rendered photo of what the project will look like completed or a few drawings done by myself of what the completed project will look like. The mock ups done on AutoCAD I hired someone for would cost more for the client and would take 1-3 months to complete, as appose to the drawings that would take me a few days and were less expensive. It's whatever you think best for you and your client! Thanks, Meredith...See MoreGarden Design App
