Need help designing a kitchen

My extended kitchen is in a awkward shape. It will be a kitchen on just one wall with one wall to store fridge freezer (full length). I also have a 3x3 pantry on the entrance to kitchen. We cannot come up with any new design ideas of this kitchen except going with floor and wall kitchen cabinets and an island in the middle. Please help.

Awkward, but not impossible... Do you happen to have any pictures you are able to upload, whether that be plans or visuals of what you currently have?

Hello Jeannette, what a lovely project! I've worked on a number of bungalows and they have their own unique challenges. Making the spaces work for our needs today, and for your own family needs have to be the priorities. I would suggest you appoint an interior designer before thinking in detail about the kitchen. An interior designer will find out how you want to use the space and come up with clever floor plan that is workable and beautiful. This is going to be a really important investment for you. perhaps its time to either ask for design help with the company you intend to purchase from - or alternatively hire an independent kitchen designer to design the room for optimum usage and style ? there are a few of us on Houzz who do that ! I have the Nolte design package on my system , if that's the one you intend to buy ?

Thank you for your response. We had plans pretty finalised until we found out that we can keep just that long wall into the large space as it is a load-bearing. There is an opportunity to put a door in though. I am attaching what it looked like with all the walls that we can now remove. We have also been tinkering with ideas which I am adding as well. I added some comments on the plans as well. What we want to have is a dining area with a large table that seats 8-10 people. We want enough space for two people to work and cook in the kitchen. Thus, we were thinking of an island or an L-shape workspace coming out. We'd like to have a utility room to have space for all the cleaning utensils. Washer and Dryer will be upstairs in a separate laundry room. The living room is nothing formal but an area to relax and watch TV. We'd like to have an L-shaped cough in there for a family of four (2 kids under the age of 10).

Hi so this is what I had in mind. Although it ideal I think it would be too expensive for now to remove that lone cupboard. So an idea would be; 1. Paint the walls white 2. Paint the cupboards pale grey: http://www.farrow-ball.com/paint/Paint-For-Kitchen-Cupboards 3. Get nice oak laminate floor from Homebase or B&Q 4. It may cost between £200 and £300 to fit the floor with underlay. But totally worth it. 5. Cheap grey sofa (maybe not corner sofa) or second hand sofa, max those dimensions on the plan. I bought two cheap ones from Homebase for our back room and they're totally fine. 6. Farmhouse table with bench / Eiffel chairs 7. Tv bench and side table from ikea 8. From the drawing, it looks like you have two walls that could accommodate units (top with the velux's and the wall attached on the right)? Possibly with options near the pantry room.

As for an Island/peninsula, we've never found a space where one can't be included... You would just need to ensure you have enough space between worktop/appliances.

Do you happen to know the dimensions in the room, Shikta?

Sorry cannot attached PDF here. So here it is -

Wall with velux is 6.3m.

Wall with small door is 3.4m

Wall with sliding door is 3.6m

pantry is 3.2height x 2.9 width(window wall)
