Roof lighting. How do you keep it clean?
Comments (2)Hi As Victoria said, self cleaning glass does make a difference, but it only works best when the glass is at a 15* (or more) pitch. A Flat Glass Roof Light is installed at a 5* pitch, so yes, they do get dirty and will need cleaning every now and then. This wouldn't be the case with a Roof Lantern as our system has a 25* pitch, which means the self cleaning glass works better. I hope that helps answer your question! Comments (26)If I’ve left the windows a bit too long then I’ll use window spray cleaner sprayed all over and wear gloves so my water can be very hot and go over all the windows in the room with any cloth. Then get fresh hot clean water and fresh cloth start again on each window then squeegee and dry cloth for edges and runs. Mine really need doing now and been meaning to all day but run out of daylight. Been in the garden and done the first mow of the year :)...See MoreHow do people clean the limescale on their splashbacks?
Comments (3)Are you sure the limescale is created by steam or pots of boiling water? With my rudimentary understanding of physics I was under the impression the steam is only condensing water vapour and all the other bits are left behind eg. in the kettle. Hence why kettles get limescale build-up. So if it isn't limescale as such (the type you get on shower screens for instance), then things like vinegar would be pointless. And whilst we're on the subject, vinegar is an excellent and cheap limescale remover, which we often use in the house, but it shouldn't be used of surfaces such as marble or limestone....See Morehow do you clean your quartz worktops?
Comments (3)I use ecover multiaction spray once a week on mine and it’s fine, have been using it for about 2 years. The rest of the week I just use Ecloth dishcloths with water only. If it gets stained which is rare (wet teabags and curry can be problematic) I spray dettol surface cleaner on the stain leave for a few minutes then rub away. I’ve had white quartz worktops for 12 years now and not had any issue with damage/staining. They are pretty robust, I’m not careful with mine at all!...See More- 9 years ago
