Splashback dilemma

My whole kitchen extension is white. We need colour however glass splashback for this whole wall - quotes really expensive.
Any alternative ideas most welcome.

Comments (13)Hi, I've now had quartz worktops fitted in a white with grey and mirror flecks (compact lactea) & attach photos. Cabinets are all done too. My next area is what to do for splashback behind the hob/under the extractor. I originally wanted to do red glass across the length of the wall, but we have had under unit lights fitted below the higher cabinets and at night I can change these to any colour I want. If I do red all across I won't get the effect of the lights. Not even sure red would go? The wooden chairs are going and will be replaced & I still need to choose my island lights (thinking 3 pendants hanging). Husband thinks stainless steel sheet behind hob. I'm not sure this will look right with dark glass hob under it & wonder if it is hard to look clean all the time. What ideas do you all have as you helped with the worktops. Comments (10)I do like Bushboard products.................the only draw back with the Vista range of splashbacks is that most of them are 9mm thick, which can pose problems when trying to put the faces back on your sockets, as the screws may not reach. It's one of those products, that if you were going to use it, like very thick tiles, then you need to sort out your back boxes to accommodate it. Glass is usually supplied in 4mm like a standard tile, which doesn't give you the knock on problem with the sockets. The long socket screws are only 75mm, so they will not reach if you stick a 9mm product on the wall with adhesive. 6 of their products:- Constellation, Hazy Forest, Inner City Cloud / Ocean Grey, Kaldeidescope Grey / Blue come in 4mm, suitable for a wall. Standard Acrylic sheeting ( from just about anywhere ) is orderable - ( is that a word?) from 3mm up, but of course, may not be suitable for behind a hob. Comments (4)Hi there, I would have one single sheet running from the left cupboard side to the oven side & running flush under the extractor. I'm guessing thats an approx area of 1190mm x 650mm (ish) That way you will have one simple easy to clean area, the splash-back won't make the extractor look unbalanced & you won't have any fiddly cut-outs going under the cupboard which might look odd....See MoreCloakroom splashback or tiles advice

Wow that is a lot! The room is lovely btw. I'm struggling to find pics of upstands and the hob splashblack painted in the wall colour but this one will give you an idea. An alternative is to tile the splashblack as shown below, units and extractor are similar to yours so I thought it would give you a good visual although I'm not loving those particular tiles as much. If you go for a dark inky blue will you carry that through to the rest of the room at all? I still quite like the wood hex idea which will pick up your doors :)
