Put the kettle on!

Minimum 20 min snooze, in which time I can either relax in the knowledge that I can get up when I like as I'm not working, or treat each minute like a countdown to Armageddon when I am. It's stupid, because I don't even mind my job, it's just how it is!
If I'm not working the first thing I actually do, is get a cup of tea and go back to bed with my iPad, if I am, standard getting ready to face the world procedures apply :(

Curl up under the duvet as I come to terms with the fact that I have to get up - which takes about 10 minutes. Then I make myself even more comfortable and carry on lying in bed. I'm hopelessly dysfunctional about getting up.

I lie awake for a couple of hours every night so by dawn I'm ready to crash! On days I'm not working it's delicious to turn over and go back to sleep when I'd normally be getting up.

Now I'm retired there isn't such a rush in the mornings. I check the time on my phone and if it's after eight I get up and put the kettle on. If it's before eight then snuggle down for a bit more of a snooze. Love being retired!

I hate to get up and hit the ground running, doesn't matter if I have to work or not. In fact it has always made me feel sick to my stomach if I do. So I spend 10-15 mins 'waking up' before sitting up or getting out of bed. Usually this means I check my emails, Facebook, and often a quick squiz of the news. If I lie awake doing nothing I risk falling back to sleep!

Check my iPad and then let the dogs out, kettles next and put a wash on to get the cheaper electricity. It's all very boring

Take dogs for a walk...but before I used to practise 5 Tibetans. Great exercises, very recommendable for all ages, quick and much more beneficial then morning coffee.

Can you imagine putting the kettle on, making a coffee, showering and moving to your home office, on time, relaxed, creative... ready for anything and far more productive...

Or you could rush around, stressing, defrost the car, get stuck in traffic, get to work after a frustrating commute and have a really positive and creative mindset when you get there? And then mid afternoon dreading the reverse of the same thing every day.
