Need help with lounge layout
Comments (2)I obviously can't see where the door is but could you move the tv to the door wall and have the sofa opposite with its back to the window? In terms of the bay, either a small desk and chair, 2 occasional chairs with a small drinks table or a chaise longue...See MoreNeed help for my lounge!
Comments (16)Thanks Sherbert for your kind words. I love this room too. :) A few people are recommending Little Greene for paint, so will definitely purchase from there - especially as prices seem quite reasonble for luxury paint. In terms of the desk in the window, I'm not keen on that idea as we have a separate little cubby hole under the stairs which we'll use for a desk :) Also, we have two Moray armchairs arriving soon, which will either both (or one) be by the window along with a little table with a lamp on. In terms of the alcoves, I'd like to keep these as symmetrical as possible - we have the same alcove layout for our dining room (which is through from the lounge) as per this image. I'd like similar display cabinets in the alcoves in the dining room, and then keep the alcoves alongside the chimney breast clear in the lounge. I have looked at Purbeck Stone from Farrow & Ball for the chimney breast in the lounge which I think would compliment the colour of the sofa and chairs, which we could then accent with soft furnishings and ornaments/vases. Do you think this colour would look too dark in the lounge? Thanks....See MoreWhere did I go wrong? Through lounge does not flow
Comments (5)I would pull the rug forward so that the sofa is not half on and half off the wooden floor. Remove the 2 dining chairs and replace with an armchair . You need to draw in the space to define it as the sitting area. Definitely needs some art on the walls. A coffee table would help and I would think about putting the dark cupboard the other side and bring the open shelves to the dining side . You could decorate with some interesting books/objects . Also I would replace the curtains . Good luck....See MoreWhere did I go wrong? Through lounge does not flow
Comments (16)1. Swap the window seats for s low upholstered bench. 2. Add a side table between the door and sofa, with a table lamp. 3. Hang something beautiful over the fireplace. A painting or mirror, and other smaller paintings behind the sofa. 4. Replace the two tall dark pieces of furniture with mid-height pieces to balance the tall chimney breast. These should have table lamps or wall lights above. 5. If it still needs more, add a low coffee table in the middle and low stools....See More- 9 years agolast modified: 9 years ago
