don't know if you want to give a bad name to Ikea .
that kitchen planning is quite easy.
Measure your walls and try to fit the units in these walls in the kitchen planer with side panels too. that will make it easier if you end up with places smaller than a unit but too big for a scribe panel .
and despite what others will say,Ikea is damn good. make sure you assembled right all units then when you are certain you didn't missed any part,lose the screws and apply PVA on the joints. .
I did that on few kitchens. except the occasional paint crack(expensive kitchens get that too) and hinge readjustments,no unit got self disassembled. all in there right :)
I used the Ikea kitchen planner to design my kitchen. I found it fairly straightforward to use on my laptop with a mouse. There are worse planning tools out there.
