Help choosing colour of kitchen units?!
Comments (9)Yes, I have a sample and I did take it to Ikea. But it all just looked weird, as ikea is all artificial lighting! No natural light. I'm thinking of going back with sample and taking a door outside so check. I think white units will not match the cream :( I will post a photo of the silestone tomorrow, see what you think! Thanks :)...See MoreHELP! Colour dilemma - what colour walls with a beech unit?
Comments (3)Might sound crazy but a subtle two tone might work not colour blocking but a gradual subtle shade diff a soft off white blue grey teal on top that will not fight against the very bright white window frames and keeping a small room light.. and then getting to a soft blue grey darker teal colour with a soft graded border. And consider painting the unit soft white with an all surface soft white mat or soft sheen paint. Pop up a large piece B&W family photo or a family picked piece of wall art or something wacky like a giant gold fish on a white background framed in a thin bright orange frame and job done...or look up dark snugs/dens with rich bold colours can work well if done correctly .. good luck.....See MoreNeed help with kitchen unit colour with tile
Comments (31)The darkest is worsted. We have ruled it out but the sample had already been ordered from the kitchen place so took it anyway. I think we need the cooler blue greys so I am going to do bigger cards of lamp room grey and pavilion grey. I am swaying towards lamp room grey. Just to add, those last two pictures are during a heavy rain shower and it was very dark outside, its probably as dark as we will see the colours. I will take again in brighter conditions....See MoreKitchen Unit Colour Help!
Comments (9)Hi @brynna_vetch How exciting taking the plunge and choosing colours! I really like the green, it looks like a really nice medium warm green which is perfect for your space. There's two ways I would be inclined to go with this - either commit to the green and have them all in harmony with each other. It would certainly keep the kitchen looking consistent and add some more colour to the room - you're so lucky to have such a bright space. Or you could keep a contrast but in a subtle way - maybe look at having an off white colour to match the walls (possibly a really really light dove grey) for the rest of the units that are already undercoated. I would always tend to say make the island the darkest colour so it feels freestanding and becomes the feature of the room. If you want my personal opinion, I would say go for the green all round. It's a lovely colour and I don't think in years to come you will be bored of it. Good luck and please update us with what you decide/photos :) Charlie @ The Kitchen Lady UK www.thekitchenladyuk.co.uk...See MoreAnita
