Comments (16)Are you keeping the window in the Breakfast room or opening it up to the courtyard? If leaving as a window and the rooms are wide enough you could possibly take a row of Tall units down the left side of current kitchen, so thats the oven, larder and built in Fridge freezer, then continue down that wall into the Breakfast room with Large Pan Drawers, hob, sink, dishwasher, washing machine. Have low & narrow units opposite the tall units to create a window seat & great for storage. With fold up tables you could use the window seat for additional dining. A long dining table opposite the sink area in the current breakfast room with bench seats depending on width of the room. downside of this design is the distance to get things out of fridge and the need to ensure a work top is near the oven. Just trying to think out of the box I hate the same old look kitchens. you do need a good 3D image to imagine the look, Good luck. This was the best picture I could find, unfortunately no room for the Island...See MoreFamily bathroom- at a loss for ideas.
Comments (7)I don't think the suite is white is it?, Therefore, only warm neutrals will go. I'd remove the tiles, possibly re-tile with plain in a pale mushroom. It's the floor that dates everything, so a nice vinyl will make a world of difference. Then paint all the woodwork to tone, including the storage cupboard. Put in a plain mushroom roller blind. Change the mirror and strip light. - A mirror with a light that also tones with the vanity would be great. .You could also add in a dark wood vanity....See MoreFamily bathroom- at a loss for ideas.
Comments (5)A good size space with a nice layout already, so not a huge amount needed, really, to "lift" the room. As others have suggested, I would certainly paint the skirtings, and louvre doors & door frames - this will have the biggest positive effect. White is the obvious choice, in which case I'd pick something different for the walls, or you could be bold and pick a darker tone for the woodwork and keep the wall white/off white. To really lift the room (and if the budget will stretch), I would consider replacing the tiles to something more contemporary - perhaps a wave textured stone-effect ceramic (would tone with your floor nicely) to give a more relaxed "spa" feel. Have a look for the "Ditto" by British Ceramic Tiles - a great tile, and very well priced. It is without doubt our top selling tile just now, and for good reason! The other change which would have an immediate and very positive effect would be to change the rather dated light above the mirror - either find some nice bathroom rated lights, of find a good lit mirror (there are some good value ones out there). Last suggestion (and lowest priority) would be to consider changing the bath panel to something with a bit more interest. Exactly what to pick would depend on the overall style you are looking to achieve, but would be another easy way to add some impact with minimal cost/disruption. Hope this sparks a few ideas!
