Thanks. It's quite difficult to judge the space from the photo angle. I'm also unsure as to whether you're just altering the layout or furnishing and decorating? My thoughts anyway. I'd turn the bed 90 degrees and have it in the top left. I'd move the cabinet with the flowers to the bottom of the bed. Swing the wardrobe round so it's on the right hand wall. I'd buy a tall unit to place in front of the bed to house a tv, obviously allowing enough space for someone to get into bed, something like the one from interiordesignideas. I'd have a 2 seater sofa in the bottom left with a small chair facing the tv unit and a small coffee table. I'd take off the end of the kitchen worktop (put a new trim on the end) and add a small space saving table. If you are refurbishing I'd try and get wardrobes that do not look like a traditional wardrobe ie something similar to your cabinets

It entirely depends on your location and type of property. I think it would be really cool to build a window seat in that recessed window area. Use the blue wall as a feature wall for a focal point like a fireplace (some plug in electric ones are really nice looking these days) and then accessorise with rug, funky light fitting, standing lamp and soft furnishings. Hard to pick out colour schemes or themes without knowing more though really

Thank you so much for your very kind comments and advice! Forzaitalia. I looked up the Fatsia Japonica and really, really like it, great it is evergreen as well. I love acers but the trouble is I worry it may look sparse in winter. I wish there was an evergreen acer! I do love geraniums and have lots at the front, just not sure they work here. As you say perhaps because they are dotted around and not in groups. Jen P thank you v much for the pics, I like the table and chairs image you have put up. I have a table and chairs and have put it on the rockery and taken a pic but am not sure it works. Maybe it is due to the white colour? Of course not sure what do in the winter with it either. I love the waterfall pics but think it could mean excavation and worried about the cost at this stage. Def something maybe for a few years time. Rachelmidlands thank you also for taking trouble to look up pics, I love the red colour of the plants contrasting with the green. I also love the pagoda. This is really inspiring. I wonder if I can try something like this. As for the water feature, I wonder what I can do with the wire as it would have to go round the width of the rockery and round to the electrical point. I also looked up ponds in containers and there are some lovely designs but again I am not sure what container would work, a wood planter, a fibreglass one... Maybe I could try two either side of the rockery? It would be great to put in a fountain to really add some interest but of course if the solar ones don't work in winter that is an issue.
