Hi Colette A useful tool which I use all the time in this industry is use the Farrow & Ball website, find the nearest colour which matches your selected colour and within that it will suggest complimentary colours. Some people prefer harmonic tones whereas other people like to see contrasting colours so it is really down to your own opinion. Another website which I use quite a lot is Little Greene. It does depend on what look you want in the room, whether contemporary or something more traditional. You could try white or grey, but I think a warm wood would add warmth to the room. Ikea also do a greeny blue one, first pic.
