Agree as well, drywall would look better. Also it will give a bit more character to with the design of the drywall work at the upper left ceiling!

Hello Charlie, You're welcome! Well the down draft was just one suggestion and they do vary in aesthetic but if you want free flow across the island then the ceiling version is better. Yes I too like the idea of not seeing the hood at all..... So why not have a mix of touch open hinge mechanisms and the cup handles for the drawers.. Well... you're not going to be floored by the flooring! .. We currently have - just to show need for storage:- two 1200 and one 6oo cupboard for food and pantry items One 1200 and one 600 for pots and pans Dishwasher Double oven Tall Fridge Freezer One 1200 + one 6oo cupboard for Plates, bowls, cups, mugs and adhoc China, glasses etc One 6oo cupboard for other cooking stuff like tin foil, cling film, baking paper, storage bags, freezer bags etc On top of all of that in the main kitchen we also have in a separate Utility:- American washing machine and tumble dryer, butler sink One 600 cupboard, two 1200 cupboards Tha's 7200mm of storage in the main kitchen without appliances. I appreciate that sounds like a lot of storage, but it really isn't and we frequently run out of room.............plus my wife is a tidy freak, so if it isn't being used it gets chucked quite quickly. I wonder what the average is for a 3 or 4 bed house? Maybe Karen at OnePlan could tell us?? I don't think our house is overly blessed with storage, the kitchen isn't large.

I think it looks very clean, fresh, and modern and much improved on the old kitchen. Once the owners move back in and add their own touches it will look homely. I had a kitchen about this size and just had one clear glass pendant light in the middle and the standard extractor fan lights. We were able to see and there was no problem with shadows so I don't know what all the fuss is about here. Kitchens are for cooking, not performing surgery. I would have chosen a more exciting looking light, but actually applaud the lack of spotlights here, aka 'builder's acne'. :)
