Help with layout

Hi
Looking to order a new kitchen and had a strong idea of what I wanted. When the kitchen designer came out to our house I basically said what I wanted and she gave little input into the design.
Im now concerned that certain aspects might not look ok!!
I'm concerned about the width of the peninsula as it will be 1200 mm wide x 1800 mm length. Do you think that it looks out of proportion to the rest of the room.
I have decided against a wrap around as shown in the picture and will not have a seat at the island just a row of three sets of 2drawers.
I was also considering doing the peninsula in Blue and the other cabinets in grey.
I've also attached a photo of the drawers I want to use.
Another issue is that I have decided that I want a tall fridge which will be where the ovens are shown. Ovens will be next to it.
Any advice as to this layout would be gratefully received.

Comments (3)It looks like the little kitchen area has now gone so I would create a booth style seating area in that space. The piano I would then put at an angle in the other nook facing into the room as a feature corner. The rest of the seating would then be in the main central area. I think ultimately this depends on the budget you now have to finish the room, whether lighting can be changed to incorporate some features and task lighting/pendants. Have you considered having a designer look at the space? I work remotely and include lighting, layout and accessorising in my PDF remote designs. As you already have the wall colour and flooring sorted this you would be surprised how affordable the price is :) best of luck. Comments (65)Hi all, Thank you so much for all the helpful comments and suggestions, and sorry that it's taken me so long to respond - house renovation and work have been keeping us on our toes! This has become a long post, so a quick reminder - we were looking to renovate and rewire our 60s house to update it and also make it more wheelchair friendly downstairs for when my mother-in-law comes to visit. We employed an architect and came up with what turned out to be an 'aspirational' design (much more than the budget!) so we ended up deciding to split things into two stages: Stage One to add a downstairs wetroom for accessibility, remove chimney throughout and add a porch Stage Two to do the extension across the rear, removing the conservatory to open out a large kitchen/diner and add a utility room The layout below shows both Stages One and Two as complete. Bits shown in red are existing walls which have been/will be removed (apart from the wall in red in the seating area below which is between the existing kitchen and dining room - that's a mistake). So.....the building work is now done - hurray! Stage One is complete, we are much poorer, and we now need to decorate the whole house :-) Some before and after photos below - please bear with the terrible photography skills. The rooms aren't big enough to allow for expansive photos!: We've re-plastered throughout, apart from in the kitchen and upstairs bathroom, as we'll deal with those later. Current challenge is deciding how on earth to pick paint colours and flooring throughout.... Anyway - hopefully that gives you a sense of where we've got to. Comments (3)Hi Jonathan thank you for your comments. One of the many quirks is that the garden size is restricted and that there must be sufficient parking and access within the garden space. There is more land to the south of the marked garden but planning would not let it be part of the plot. Likewise they are unlikely to be able to incorporate a garage. i believe in making your house right for you to live. not necessarily this type of issue, but rather than decorating to sell i think you should decorate for your own benefit and enjoy it....See MoreHelp with layout for kitchen/diner extension
Comments (3)I think those yellow walls should be 1.2m and maybe even longer as you don't have a lot of wall space to work with. Personally I am not keen on peninsulas as I think they trap the kitchen user and divide the room in two. I far prefer islands. Of the two suggested layouts I prefer the top one but careful measuring will be needed. Pushing the table up against the island is practical but still I am not convinced that you have the space to seat 8 people. I have 6 chairs and my table is already 2.5m long. 8 chairs will not be comfortable in that space. Do you need to seat 8 people all the time? Do the proposed layouts show a window where you have a door on the left?...See More

Maybe you could consider this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcaaFGqoJtQ.There are many ways to increase storage space ,but you would need to go for bespoke made kitchen e.g. deeper units, higher units and lower plinths etc
