We have an independent bathroom company near to where we live. We spent hours looking on line at different products until we were so confused with it all. We picked a Darryl shower cabinet in the end, priced up on line and then visited the local showroom to see if they would price match - they matched the price on line and gave us a really great deal. We have a rain shower and it is fab, it's not electric, just runs off the hot and cold pipes. We got our bath from the Cast Iron bath company when they had a sale on. It's worth gathering together all the items you would like to purchase and then just asking for the cheapest price from everyone, as you can see, we got a good price but still gave the business to our local showroom. Hi There! Sorry to give you a terrible answer: it depends... Without making any assumptions, the tile size does not seem too large or should not be to heavy in theory. But it all depends on your walls... are they brick or are they stud walls? For the tanking, they are right as marble is a very porous stone. We highly recommend you seal it as well otherwise you will see staining over time. And the staining always will show as a shade of yellow due to the deposits of oil... What could be a solution if you are looking for a marble look but not dead set on genuine marble, is porcelain tiles with marble print. Nowadays these come in amazing quality that you could not tell look wise that they are not marble. However, they are thinner and lighter and therefore would be able to go on to your wall in a bigger format. They also do not require tanking or sealing as they are not porous.
