I just wanted to share my experience because I am on a non existent budget too. I saw a picture of a bench I loved, contacted the carpenter, and he has just made me a birch ply kitchen for a total of 1600 euros, including fitting. (600 labour, 400 fitting, 600 for materials). He has kept his price low for me because he likes the project. I am guaranteed to use him now to build wardrobes, boxes, and shelving solutions as and when I have budget. Sometimes talking to individuals who work for themselves/do it on the side can result in very cost-effective solutions! I am paying 300 euros for brushed stainless steel countertops, and got a belfast sink for 100 euro including the mixer tap. Will send u a pic when it's done but my almost dream kitchen has been possible for like 2000 euros (£1800?) I wouldn't shy away from painting the units yourself as there are many tutorials online to show you how, but it is labour-intensive and eggshell paint on cabinets = drips!! You could always just get white or raw cabinets for now, and paint later when you have some cash? Make sure you use quality brushes if you go this route. Nothing more annoying than little hairs sticking in your lovely paint :-/

Pumice and Duck Egg Blues are timeless. Personally I love some of the darker grey-blue tones which are so popular at the moment and, I'm sure, will stand the test of time. Remember colour is a curious and complex thing. A swatch will never really do it justice, and one colour will look very different depending on how matte/glossy it is. The same paint will also look very different depending on the surface it is painted on! And the choice of colours/textures used in worktops and accessories can also change the whole feel of a colour scheme without changing unit colours. John @ Caldicot Kitchen & Bathroom Centre

Hi Cesca, as your kitchen is quite dark I would go for white cupboards and natural wood worktops, something like your table and chairs. This I would live without changing as I think they looks very nice. I would move the table 50cm from the kitchen cabinets and put some nice carpet just under the table and the chairs to make the space warmer and more cozy. I would paint the walls with light green and add some colourful details. White ir light grey curtains would also make your kitchen look special. If one day you decide to change the floor go for natural wood.

@Daisy England Thanks for the reply. We got 3 folding doors approximately 3m long next to the breakfast bar like in the picture and small window as well . Yeah I am also concern that if i use the dark colours the room looks small. I am really struggling to find the granite in white colour or very very light colours which matches to this kitchen. I don't like beige colour. @Joe Colasanti Thanks for the reply. Yeah I got that feeling it might look dark. If I use this worktop i am thinking to go for some copper glass flash back or copper mosaic splash back. Is it makes the room dark ? First i started looking for granite or marble in white colour for this kitchen. Everyone said marble is not good for worktops . Even the guy who is selling the granite and marble slabs he said don't go for marble. So we decided to go for granite. Now I am struggling to find the granite in white colour. So I thought of choosing this infinity granite. Can we get any granite in white colours to this kind of kitchen price range between 4k to 5k. Any ideas really helpful. Many thanks
