Dear Jill, Buying a property is a serious financial commitment. I would not hesitate to get a quote or even several preferably from the local tradesmen. You need to factor in the costs associated with these or any other works you intend to do outside or inside the house. This house is very impressive with lots of character. I love the symmetry of it, entrance, large windows and overall proportion. I would rather restore and preserve the original features than paint over. Hi Heba I concur with what a lot of people have said about the sealant. Some paving stones are more porous than others and will need sealing to prevent them from absorbing water. I am also concerned, from the photo, that the water has nowhere to drain to. All paved areas need to be laid on a fall (a uniform gradient) to allow water to run off them. This fall should be directed to a drain or planting border so that it has somewhere to drain to. I recommend pavingexpert.com as the most concise and simple reference for information on these matters. Regarding the colour change, I'm afraid this natural weathering happens to all stone. The stone can be brought back to it original colour by jet-washing.

It's a really nice colour. You may need to go the next shade up as colours tend to be a couple of shades lighter on the exterior but it depends what you like. I'd get some testers. If you're painting directly on the wall you'll need to paint out some of the yellow with white otherwise it will distort the colour. Paint large samples using a min of 2 coats on each side of the house so you can see how it changes. I saw your comment on the other post earlier, I'm finally in the middle of having mine painted (3 years on!). I actually ended up going for F&B colours in the end but colour matched to Johnstones everywhere as it was just too dear other than for my front door which will be in LG.
