Buy decor bricks - they are thin slices of brick that are stuck on wall a bit like tiling - but with brick - wickes do them !

How about warm yellow? I think it will go together with bricks and would be a good contrast to dark floor and black cooker. Yellow is an optimistic and cheerful colour and often is associated with food. /Marcin

I’m in agreement with Ribena. Do think carefully before going ahead. When we moved into our current house 30 years ago we had a brick wall built to separate the kitchen from the dining area on the end of the peninsula. It was a bad decision. Dust, muck and the like collected in the joints despite vacuuming it. When we had a new kitchen it got taken back out. It created such a mess taking it back out but at least I now have clean surfaces.

Thank you to both of you. The colour palatte is really useful. Ive been looking at different materials, mostly natural stone or porcelain cladding. Im also considering a rendered wall. I took a drive round the neighbourhood today to see what I liked the look of.
