internal brick wall - what bricks?

hello all, I'm having an extension built and want one wall of bare brick. I want it to look industrial/loft style but struggling to find the right bricks. any ideas appreciated. thanks.

Hi. Are you looking at new or reclaimed bricks? Yellow/buff London stock is quite a good choice but there are a few nice ones on here. I'd look at reclaimed ones in any case

You could go lots of ways with this kitchen.... You have good light and it looks lovely and warm..... I would personally go for a neutral then you can dress up or down with accessories. Have a look at rolling fog, Mirage II, Dorchester Pink and Clay by Little Greene.

I’m in agreement with Ribena. Do think carefully before going ahead. When we moved into our current house 30 years ago we had a brick wall built to separate the kitchen from the dining area on the end of the peninsula. It was a bad decision. Dust, muck and the like collected in the joints despite vacuuming it. When we had a new kitchen it got taken back out. It created such a mess taking it back out but at least I now have clean surfaces.

I think the imperfections are part of the charm of a bare brick wall. The trick is, I think, to make sure the other elements and details which are ‘touching’ it to look contrastingly perfect, sleek and clean. So the ceiling, the walls, possible skirting, shelving etc should all look ‘finished’. Perhaps you can also consider to render the brick ‘pillars’ or other parts to create interest and break up the expanse of bricks. Defused lighting can work wonders too.

I think you should have it repointed, paint it with Water seal designed for brick and stone….. and yes I would add a skirting board but paint it stone coloured.
