Bedroom advice - finishing touches!
Comments (45)Hello again all and sorry for the delay! i have now got a throw and started to extend my gallery over the corner. I grabbed an old chair and rug that were kicking about in my parents' garage and put them in the corner to give me some idea of what i want. actually, i kinda like the beat-up chair but i don't think the rug looks right. is it too small? Now i have the reddish throw (LOVE it... from the Avoca shop in Belfast - amazing place, if you are ever in Belfast do go!!) I am actually considering replacing my blind because i prefer red tones to the turquoise. Just not sure what I would get instead? Still need a fab lamp and more cushions but wisdom says wait for the January sales! I still think I need something more eyecatching on my vanity too... Considering a map above my bed but I don't know if it would compete with the gallery wall too much? have to say i do love the "hello" sign!...See MoreBedroom lighting
Comments (3)Hello! We'd recommend a layered mix too. 1) Ambient Lighting - your main bedroom light. It could be pendant, a statement feature, but be careful with the height of the ceilings because a big pendant on a low ceiling may cause obvious problems and look a bit out of place. 2) Task Lighting - the lights which are dotted around the house to help you achieve different tasks. A table lamp for the side of the bed for reading/mirror lights to help you get ready for the day. 3) Accent Lighting - the lighting used to accentuate particular features. Are you hanging a special photograph on the wall? Are you proud of some artwork? Some accent lights can help to draw further attention to your piece. LED Strip lights are good for this because they are flexible and can be built around objects/painting/photographs. We have plenty of different lights available should you need any more help deciding your bedroom lights! http://www.directtradesupplies.co.uk/section.php/97/1/light-fittings DTS....See MoreBedside lighting ideas needed.
Comments (6)Thank you everyone for the fantastic ideas so far! They are all contenders. JML Garden Rooms, i love the cage look and have not thought of that. mrsmcee74 again fab idea, I had looked at Dunelm but don't remember seeing them. AJ Interior LTD I think you get my idea and want something different and is absolutely fantastic, unfortunately hubby would not allow me to purchase :-( , I would in a heartbeat as I love them!!! If anyone has any other ideas on a slightly smaller budget ;-) Tani Harvey - Smith, they look lovely and love the shape. Definitely food for thought, again Thank you...See Morechandelire and bed side lamps
Comments (3)I think it is better that they don't match exactly. I think rooms should look organic and not as if everything has been bought from the same place at the same time. These compliment each other and are both attractive in their own right....See MoreA B
