Hello, the breakfast bar is roughly 195cm long, 33cm deep and just over 91cm high, same height as kitchen counters. I went with 2 little cupboards underneath rather than space for 3 stalls, although you can squash 3 people in!

Hi JMK, looking at the size and orientation of the bifold doors to the room it maybe worth considering sliding doors more than bifold doors (FYI we do award-winning versions of both systems so we have no bias towards one type of door) Based on the drawings I would estimate the opening to be around 4.8m wide which would most likely be a 5-panel set of bifold doors or you could opt for a 3 panel sliding door with panel widths around 1.6m wide and slim intermediate frames in between. Long term I would be looking at the whole floor plan. It appears to me (and I concede we haven’t seen the whole plan) that the extension just provides additional small rooms. Perhaps it you had extended rather than the previous owners you might have put a bigger kitchen where the spare room and utility is and had the laundry facilities in the bootroom. To me the kitchen being in a high traffic area will always feel cramped. So perhaps it’s worth getting a long term plan and deciding if that plan changes any immediate plans.

I'd try simple things like losing the high cupboards between the hob and the window? Try and open it up... Light colour on the walls too. Nothing wrong with a galley kitchen - plenty of workspace!
