I think white sofas will look amazing with what you have in the room if you add more shades of greige for cushions and a throw, a little blush pink would also look nice with it. However white is not the most practical so it depends how careful your family are really or maybe look at washable covers

Would you have space for a chair? I was thinking that something like this would be funky, with a sheepskin and a pillow in it. Or Ikea has some fun rattan chairs too now. They don't have much visual weight, which is a plus in a smaller room. And it would work well with your coffee table. Anyway... maybe it gives you an idea :-)

Here is inspiration with white sofas

I would go for taupe (easier to keep clean) and add colour with accessories. Practical first - form follows function is my motto.

Also ikea have a gorgeous brown or tan leather sofa in the Stockholm series similar to Carolina's picture of the John Lewis leather sofa.

Depending on how light your room is ,. I would think about a burgundy shade of sofa . More warmth & a contrast ,. It looks as though you have similar colour on the candles maybe add a couple of cushions or other bits . If that's too bold the dark pink JL sofa looks nice .

I'd also put the sofa opposite the fire and a chair as per Carolina's pic but mask it out as Carolina suggested. I'd go for the lighter one of the ikea sofas you picked so as not to overwhelm the room. If you do change sofa choice I'd go for something similar on legs with narrow arms. I'd also add a mirror over the fire

Same for me. Sofa opposite fireplace (space permitting) with a more slender coffee table or none at all and the chair as suggested by Carolina by the radiator.

Rehang it or get a sliding barn door?

Do you need the door into the kitchen , or could you make it open plan & free up the space taken up by the door ?

Have the entryway behind a small sectional sofa and the sofa facing the fireplace with the chaise either running along the radiator or along the opposite side. Nothing needs to touch the walls but l still think the coffee table may need to fall to the side somewhere.
