Comments (133)I might get overruled on that one! (Although my husband is obviously wanting to watch it for different reasons!). I'm pleased that you're happy with it! That's great that they're washable, so handy, and that the dog likes it!! No Xmas took over... I need to look at it urgently as damp has now appeared in one room, I feel like I've cursed it :( we went to Bruges last week and I admired numerous houses, as you do (!), and I'm now thinking of slightly less traditional colours.... I just can't make my mind up, i wish whoever hadn't rendered it in the first place as it would be so much easier!...See MoreWhat's the best piece of life advice you've ever received?

Comments (29)I'd agree with both angm47 & man about the house. Before we bought our current property, we were set on buying a house & had people in to give us quotes on work, etc but then discovered the property had mundic & we had to pull out. Fortunately, we hadn't spent anything. Where we are now, we had plans to extend but once we'd lived in it, our ideas changed. Although we've still extended, it's completely different to what we'd initially thought we'd do....See Morekitchen and utility design - making do!
Comments (4)Assuming you just mean a coat of paint? There is no point doing much beyond that. 5 years, with a new baby, will go by quickly. When we moved into our house we took 4 years til building work started although we knew on moving in we wanted to do it. We lived with it, if took months to see architects and decide which to go with. Then months to get ideas, drawings and structural drawings. Then months to get builder quotes. Popular, recommended builders often have waiting lists. We then put in building warrant/planning permission which took almost 6 months of back & forwards..... I'd use the time you have to look online for ideas of what you want/like. I wouldn't spend a penny on it til your ready., we didn't even paint to make do. It looks good just now. Good luck with the baby! When is it due?...See More- 9 years ago
