Lounge almost complete but need some ideas please
Comments (47)Hi thanks very much for the useful hints and tips, they've really helped! So far I've done a subtle re-jig of the decorative items on the shelves and thinned them out a bit to make it less busy (and more contemporary). I have added a cushion and throw plus a bit more useful storage baskets and so far I'm happier with it now. I also have to consider the overall flow of the room rather than 1 wall - for example when I walk into the room this wall is on the left and the sofa wall is on the right, and there was a risk that if I added shelves etc on this wall it would then unbalance the look of the room as the sofa walls are so far pretty plain. I'm getting a new sofa next month and when this arrives I'll be able to see the room in its finished form and can make any last minute adjustments!! I want to add some more shiny stuff and will get a nice chrome tray or centrepiece for my glass coffee table. Pffft, this house decor lark can take over your life sometimes :))...See MoreKitchen advice
Comments (25)This is a lovely kitchen, I would suggest keeping the window fitting you have currently and updating the style. Possibly a more neutral colour like a cream or off white if you are looking to choose light colour kitchen units. You can go for a different approach which would be taking down the old curtain style window dressings and go for a more contemporary blind, possibly would go for a fabric based Roman blind in a waterfall/stepped style. We can advise in terms of pricing, provide me window sizes and we can provide you a free quote. Have a look at our website and facebook pages for more portfolio pictures. Comments (18)Hi Suzanne, The stairs i had in the drawing were my version of what i thought it would look like before we got formal drawings from the architect (bit of cut and paste of existing plans). I do have an updated version he did i'll post here. However on this plan the bay at the back of the kitchen is too narrow and we haven't got the side windows shown in the kitchen etc. The stairs i had shown have a half landing. Our current stairs have 2 quarter landings. The stairs only go up 1 floor - 15 steps (15th being the landing level). We are also constrained by some eaves so the steps can't come up directly onto the landing by the wall due to head height issues - i have shown this with a red line. Happy to consider any stair variants you mentioned. I will take a look at stairbox.com thank you. The hall is approx 7.5m by 3.5m if you include the utility/coat cupboard area in the overall space. Thanks again for looking at this for us!...See MoreEmily Hughes
