Kitchen basket colour

My clever husband made this bespoke trolley for our kitchen, but the only basket we could find to fit with the handles in the right place were white washed. I really wanted a natural colour, does anyone know what I can use to stain them. Or do you think they look ok as they are?

Comments (4)I personally would not choose black curtains. I prefer curtains that are a similar colour as the walls, so if you paint the walls grey, then have simple linen-cotton curtains In grey. I cannot see the sink window, so can you share a pic of that wall? I’m thinking, without seeing the window, white painted wooden Venetian blinds. My eye is drawn to your lovely antique style wall clock, so how about a similar shade on your walls, a shade of parchment? If that’s too country style, then maybe off white walls?...See More- 9 years agoThank you for your comments. The kitchen is really old and we replaced work surface and tiles to give it a facelift. The trolley replaces a breakfast bar that never worked and made the kitchen feel even smaller. My children used to have breakfast there before school (they now have children of their own)
I don't like the cupboard colour but to expensive to replace.
This is the colour I thought might look better, but stains look so artificial when we looked in B&Q.
