We've picked a lovely grey matt tile for our master bathroom. Would love to make a feature wall behind the free standing bath. I was thinking of cladding... Thoughts and ideas welcomed
I have used this type of stone cladding before, it can look amazing if applied correctly.
One thing to be careful of is that there are some cheap imports around at the moment that don't fit together very well. They usually come as a sheet and fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. When they go together you should not be able to see the joint so it looks like a full wall of stone cladding as opposed to a jigsaw of separate panels. Best way to check is to get a couple of panels from your supplier and see how they fit together.
The main beauty of this material is the textured surface.
Have you considered putting in floor mounted uplighter behind the bath to cast light up. This will highlight the texture and create a sparkle off the minerals in the surface of the stone. (Ensure the lights are IP rated - i.e. waterproof)
