Happy new year! Here's to 2018

After a successful first year of running our practice during 2017 we thought it would be a good idea to do a round up of our projects being built in 2018. The past year we have successfully accomplished planning on over 10 properties across London and Kent, all of which are now on site and soon to be completed across 2018. We offer serves and advice that cover all stages up to construction, including planning consultation and high end visualisation to properly test the requirements and designs sought out by our clients. Comments (74)Wow that looks beautiful, I am jealous of the brick. We wanted a very similar colour brick but the council wouldn’t allow and I didn’t want the red brick so we went with blocks and hopefully crisp render. We started our build towards end of Jan. Double extension, the foundations laid and then had the structural engineer out and final final details drawn up. The ground floor blocks have been laid and the scaffold has gone up so don’t know how long that will take. Our builders seem on track and have said August finish but I think it will be September/October Tani how many bedrooms did you have built and how many rooms downstairs? Comments (10)Thanks @Jonathan. I had trouble seeing it all clearly, but yes, I had assumed this was a new build. The design makes more sense with those limitations. I could definitely live with less storage by the entrance to free up space for a separate utility room. Other ideas for using the space better really depend on what space you have upstairs and also on your lifestyle and interests. My idea of using the space better would include a sauna where the shower room is (not an argument I would ever win at home). I also would not have the breakfast bar, as it is simply not something I would use. However, for resale value, it might be worth doing, if this is not somewhere you can see yourself staying for ever. Comments (10)Room Arranger is perfect for this. It runs on Windows, android and iOS. I’ve designed my kitchen and my parents using it. I have also used it to settle designs for my bedroom and bathroom. On ios its free to download and use, but to save your designs you need to pay £7 something. However, you can view the 3d version of your design and take screenshots if you don’t want to pay. For trying not tiles etc, just download an image of the tile in question (just the tile itself and crop if necessary), import into the app, and then choose it when selecting options for your floor/walls....See More

I hear the same thing all the time. It's so hard to see how a space would look when you are looking at a plan view line drawing. I would definitely recommend looking into a free software that will bring it to 3D format - when it comes to visualising the layout and the items sizes within a space they can really help. It is great starting point.
For getting the feel for the textures and colours that work in your space I create 3D images for my clients (and I offer a stand alone 3D packages). I have attached a few example images below. In my 3D package we can create your space in 3D - with your items. We then offer three variations so you can see different colours, different layouts or kitchens etc. What ever helps you to see your space and help you make those difficult decisions that are often taking large chunks of your budget :) ...so the bits that are important to get right.
