We have just had our kitchen from DIY kitchens fitted. I am genuinely impressed with the quality and attention to detail. Our builder and carpenter also commented on how good the quality is. No one can believe how little we paid for all of the cabinetry, it in no way looks 'diy' or like a budget option. It's a bit of a daunting process as they do not have designers, you have to order each component yourself online. They will however, check your order thoroughly against your plan if you send it to them. They highlighted a corner post and end panel that I had missed on my order. Everyone we spoke to at DIY was super friendly and could answer any question we had related to the product. There is a large showroom which is apparently worth a visit, but too far away for us.....so we took a leap of faith and ordered having never seen the product in the flesh....we shouldn't have worried, it looks great. It's worth saying I did also try a couple of small local firms as lots of people experience getting great deals from independents, it was not the case for us, they were still pretty expensive, but this may depend on the region and perhaps I just chose badly? Take a look at the diy kitchens website, on the right hand side is a link to customer kitchens, where customers have sent in photos of their kitchens once fitted. This gave me confidence as you could see achievable results in real homes rather than the result of glossy marketing shoots....there are some really stunning customer kitchens!

We tried diy kitchens but struggled with an accurate quote as they don’t plan for you, they like to go offa other plan. Told us to go to howdens then send them the plan.

Anyway, we ended up going into Homebase, they have an assembled range, like DIY do. And they are very reasonably priced too. The lady did a plan with I sent to diy kitchens but actually they couldn’t beat the price for a similar spec kitchen. Try Homebase, they are owned by an Aussie company now and their pricing is competitive x

We were on a budget too, so went to DIY Kitchens' lovely showroom in Pontefract and were very impressed by the quality and value of their cabinets. Hubby enjoyed a tour of the factory next door as well! The staff are fantastic and could answer all our questions. The tile-sized colour samples which are available there were invaluable to us for colour-matching purposes. We designed our kitchen ourselves and ordered it online. We also ordered extra items, e.g. tall doors and end panels, to enable us hubby to build a bespoke corner larder and a utility cupboard for the washer and tumble dryer, to fit in non-standard spaces. They rang us to check that we did actually want three different colours of painted cabinets (as on the order) because it was unusual in their experience and they wondered if we had made a potentially expensive mistake! Nearly three years on, our kitchen still looks wonderful and I would wholeheartedly recommended giving DIY Kitchens a go.
