Yes, I did a kitchen where trivet rods were done in Corian. The customer was afraid that they would forget and scorch their material with a hot pot. They loved it for a month. And then hated it. It’s a bear to have a permanent obstacle around which to clean. Because it was Corian, they were able to get it filled back in and you couldn’t tell it had ever been cut there. Quartz would not have similar repairability should you also not like it.
I’d encourage you to develop the kitchen best practices of always using a trivet and a cutting board. That never fails if you make it that habit!
