Need help for our kitchen, blue cabinets, what floor and work surface?
Comments (3)Hello Ben, There are lots of alternatives to wood. How about granite, quartz or conglomerate marble? Conglomerate marble is more durable than standard marble, which is great for kitchens to reduce any possible staining or scratches. Granite and quartz are both very durable, non-porous materials and popular choices for kitchen worktops, too. Not to mention all three materials will last you a life time. We have hundreds of samples of these materials, but please feel free to explore your colour options by looking at the samples on our website here: http://www.diespeker.co.uk/materials/ (simply expand the tabs). If you're looking for a light worktop we'd recommend: quartz QU011 and QU078 and conglomerate marble CG028 and CG025. Good luck!...See MoreQuiet materials for kitchen flooring/work surfaces
Comments (4)Hi, A wood floor will obviously help and they are right a cork floor would be even more absorbent than a harder wood floor. Obviously the disadvantage is being softer it can damage easier and does not always look great. I have added a link to a engineered wood floor that uses cork and oak and is not expensive. Its worth fitting a acoustic barrier below this also on link. http://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/accessories/651/natura_sonic_gold_acoustic_underlay?adtype=pla&keyword=&gclid=Cj0KEQjwyozABRDtgPTM0taCrKsBEiQATk6xDkeDsY6vQX1Pnj8zGPWFkjp1BZ9Nak6bOchDYO2hWpQaAiW88P8HAQ http://www.parkettkaiser.de/epages/62324980.sf/?Currency=GBP&Locale=en_GB&ObjectPath=/Shops/62324980/Products/EGG_K_485991/SubProducts/STK_EGG_K_485991-0001&ViewAction=ViewProductViaPortal&gclid=Cj0KEQjwyozABRDtgPTM0taCrKsBEiQATk6xDtcpJ4g44V7_zi4jbobK3RX-ZRUTm1LMjEQckA660H8aAtH58P8HAQ...See MoreNew kitchen , new floor ?
Comments (14)Looking at your ideabook, you're definitely not after the industrial look with your bricks! This is a more toned down colour scheme which is light and airy and still has warmth to it. Maybe you could add pale grey tiles or splashbacks similar to the worktops in this kitchen. Are you adding flooring just to the kitchen or is this part of a bigger renovation project? If so, you might want to consider whether you will want to use the same flooring throughout the ground floor as this will obviously affect your choice. https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/77-glebe-scandinavian-kitchen-london-phvw-vp~24289739...See Moredoes oak herringbone work in a contemporary kitchen
Comments (17)Thanks for all the positive feedback. You get so involved in the process that sometimes you forget the ‘project’ is your home ! Next project is the utility which we cancelled as part of this phase as we were just going to tidy up the existing small utility room but decided to open it up to make it bigger incorporating the adjacent wc and small internal hall combing the 3 small rooms to make one decent sized room. Updates to follow for anyone that is interested....See Morealinlondon123456
