The main downsize is cost. You can have concealer heads installed that match your paint choices so they essentially go away for the most part. They won't go off unless they have heat great enough (i.e. a fire) to cause then to go off. Depending on extent of your remodel, you may have far more wall board repair with a sprinkler than you otherwise would. If you are updating all plumbing, Wirsbo utilizes a system that is integrated with your potable water (we always do this system on new construction) otherwise you will do a closed loop system similar to what you would have in a commercial building. Brett, I have worked designing kitchens and bathrooms for over 30years. You have the wrong system, you should have a standard boiler with in unvented hot water tank this would give you great pressure all over the house. Water pressure is measured if feet of head which in days of old was the difference in height of the top of the shower and the top of the cold water tank so in a 3rd floor this would be 2 foot to the ceiling and 2 foot in the attic, with an unvented system you wold have about 112 feet of head.

I can’t really give any advice as plumbing isn’t my thing. However - we’re a family of 4 (with two teenagers that have suddenly started washing 😂) in a large Victorian terrace with a bedroom and en-suite in the loft. We had a combi boiler fitted when we had a kitchen extension several years ago, and we haven’t had a problem. Our showers have thermostatic valves - so haven’t had any issues with temp changes when someone turns on a tap. (We used to have an issue before the combi, but I think that was more to do with the old shower!).
