How to hide pipes (or make them less of an eyesore?)
Comments (13)if you can't put the pipes in the wall, and changing everything to pretty copper is out of budget (copper gets $$$ quick), it may be possible to paint the pipe with a metallic finish paint to make it LOOK like it's a decorative feature. the copper metallic paints aren't horrible, but next to real copper, fall short. the chrome or stainless paints though, look pretty good. good luck!...See MoreWhat hides underneath your stairs?
Comments (27)@kenny Duncan: right now (and that's changing all the time) I have roughly the same amount of wine crammed in our space as I count in Sorrel's picture; but our under-stairs space is not half the size, only 7ft at its highest and L-shaped because the staircase is a winder. Without X-Ray vision no good picture, you see only the most-densely packed part of it. Not for sale :-)...See MoreHELP hiding pipes in downstairs toilet!
Comments (13)Did you resolve this? I've just tried to sort out a similar dilemma. Due to the boxing and waste shape, most pre-made units wouldn't fit. In the end, I gave up and bought another sink with a vanity unit on adjustable legs. You could check if there is a vanity unit available to go with that sink? It does look familiar - I'm sure I've seen a matching unit. Or something like the Lillangen or Tyngen units from IKEA, with the sink cut out from the worktop? The sink could have come with a template to enable you to get the right shape....See MoreHide pipes/ general outdoor toilet uplift!
Comments (4)I’m no expert but we placed a cupboard around our boiler and then boxed in all the pipework with MDF. We’ve got a lot of boxing in as the house is old and had no central heating when we moved in. Then we painted the walls and the boxing all one colour so it sort of blends in. You could use a kitchen cupboard or get a carpenter to build one. We got someone in to do all the work as it was just too much for us. A carpenter will cost £150-£250 a day but they should do a good job. In the pic below the cream cupboard houses the boiler and to the right (above the blind) is a pipe boxed in area. Sorry the picture is a bit rubbish but I hope you get the ideas. I think plastering/plaster boarding the walls and adding a sink and a radiator is an excellent idea....See MoreAli Dolphin
