May be you could bring the Garage forward and excavate the back of the garage. Instead of a Garage it can then be a carport where you drive in one side and out the other. This also has the added benefit of creating a less steep entrance.

I think it will be difficult to find something to match. I could be wrong but, from the photo, it looks like the drive was some kind of crazy paving made up from broken slabs - 2 or 3 different colours (?) which have since weathered & faded. So if you found something similar to replace them, the colour would most likely be brighter. What happened to the parts of the drive that the builder took up?

The weed invasion is a common problem with brick paths and driveways - so many areas for air born weeds to land and grow. Weed killer has to be used a lot during the growing season because of the fact that the seeds are in the air. You kill one weed, then another grows in its place. I’ve heard a mixture of salt and vinegar mixed in a sprayer makes a good cheap weed killer but I’ve never used it. There are also flame guns you can try, but again I’ve no idea how well they do the job.

Hi- if you are keen on gravel, it might be worth investigating gravel grids. They can be laid over tarmac and will keep the gravel in place. I used them in my own garden 5 years ago to create a base for loose laid porcelain tiles and they were dead simple to use DIY.
