Replace old kitchen

We need to replace our current kitchen pictured below. We would like to move the sink to the far window wall and have wall to ceiling cupboards, because we need the storage space, but are not sure if this is possible because the drain is currently just outside where the current sink is. The kitchen is next to a dining room (to the left of the first picture below and is joined by a door (not included in the photo). We're not sure it is within our budget or living space needs to knock down the wall where we currently have the oven to become a kitchen diner, but that would be a way to make the kitchen lighter and more open. We also have the issue that if we were to need to move the oven, where would it go? If we are unable to move the sink to the far end of the kitchen then there would not be space and even if we could move it to the wall where we currently have a sink, there is a window in the centre of that wall (above the sink) - not ideal for cooker hood, etc. While we like the idea of a kitchen island joining the kitchen and dining room, we are concerned we would lose wall storage space and do not like the idea of a kitchen island with a sink or cooker either - less practical with young children, etc.

We no longer want open shelving and wooden worktops and like traditional, simple look, black or white/light grey granite worktops, white or grey/slate blue cupboards.
