Hi there, a friend of ours has done the same conversion and I love her new studio. On one wall she has floor to ceiling shelves which come in handy when storing your supplies. (See image 1) although I have found an excellent idea which doesn't take up much room. (See image 2). I don't know about you but she had heaps of paintings lying around which were taking up a bit of space and she created a painting holder. You could either mix this in with your shelving unit or have it free standing (see image 3,4&5). As far as colours are concerned, I would keep it quite plain as you need quite a lot of light. However, if you were choosing to do something that may cover the whole wall, I would pick a bright colour such as hot pink to paint behind it. Although it is a bright colour, it would be minimised. Studio will be used mainly as kitchen (part of my sentence in title was cut by houzz system) We have to decide 2 things: What colors/design to use if wall colors - are changed ( I am thinking about 2nd screenshot design I've attached) - are not changed(don't know yet) I am attaching dimensions.

Should come within PD if you aren't enlarging. You could need change of use to habitable space. You will def need to conform to building regs and this conversion is notifiable. Contact a local architect and or your local planning office/ building control if you need more help.

Hi Mr Singe, That is quite a lack of natural light. There are lots of questions with this project like - what is above the property? Are the walls structural? what is your budget? There are plenty of options but as OnePlan rightly said, there are also lots of issues and safety factors to consider, especially if your intention is to let or sell the property once completed. Our advice too would be to seek professional advice from a qualified interior designer or architect. Mirrors, artificial light, shiny surfaces and light tunnels would all be great things to consider.
