Can you please help us to choose colors and design for a small studio

We are thinking to change colors of walls as well to have more flexibility in design choice. But are not sure yet. So any ideas about whole room wall colors/design are welcomed as well.

Thanks for your fast feedback. Studio will be used mainly as kitchen (part of my sentence in title was cut by houzz system) We have to decide 2 things: What colors/design to use if wall colors
- are changed ( I am thinking about 2nd screenshot design I've attached)
- are not changed(don't know yet)

I could see a fake floor platform constructed in front of the windows, going across the entire width of the flat. At the left side of the platform, put in a storage wall from the column back towards the flat door. Then, put a dining table or desk on the top of the platform. Build a slide out platform for the mattress. Although you are only looking at a small double, I would build the sliding platform sufficiently deep to hide a full sized bed (5-6 feet). If you had extra space, you could install hinged doors to access the storage space hidden under the far edge of the raised area. In the floor level area in front of the platform, use easily moved comfortable chairs that you could just push out of the way when you wanted to slide out the mattress. (Poang chairs from IKEA would be ideal). If you wanted an extra chair for company, consider a canvas sling chair like you would see at the beach which would store in a space scarcely more than an inch deep If you are looking for ideas, consider spending a few hours viewing boats at one of the London area marinas that sell canal boats. After looking at a few canal boats, your flat will look absolutely spacious! Just curious, if you wouldn't mind sharing, where is your flat and how much was the purchase price? (approx is fine)

Hi Claire, Do the doors actually open inwards into the room? How about considering place the bed in the center of the room facing the doors? You would disguise the back of the bed with a thin console table which have some dressing style storage (jewelry etc) and can hold some tall flowers and candles to set the mood on entering. There's lots of ways you can add the luxury feel you are looking but this would create real impact and make the bed the real feature of the space. If budget allows I would hang lights from the ceiling ad beside lights and layer up on dressing for an even more luxurious feel. I have attached one of my clients bedroom design (single room re-design package) to show you the hanging lighting idea - if this isn't possible then a well placed small chandelier style light would have a great effect on the space. Hi there! It's always a little tricky to visualise without an image but if we break it down the colours you have to work with are: dark floorboards, grey patio slabs, dark brown and mid oak furniture, and a vanilla kitchen. There's quite a mix there and based on the furniture and dark oak floorboards, it seems like the space might have quite a traditional feel? With this in mind, I'd suggest a herringbone floor in your kitchen. A natural oak would work well with the vanilla kitchen units and furniture. Yet, a darker oak could blend nicely with your hallway boards. Or, there's the option of an ashen colour that would lend itself to your grey tiles outside. Hi there Lizzie, I agree with Steph! I think that curvy lines and pushing the planting space more to the centre of the garden would not only emulate more the cottage style that you like but could potentially make your very narrow garden look wider than it is! Also, if you really like plants and flowers I would definitely go for deeper beds than 50cm. This might well mean ditching the lawn (which you said you wouldnt mind anyway), but you would still have plenty of greenery to see from your kitchen from an interesting planting scheme (could have plants that flower at different times of the year, rather than just the green lawn throughout the year for example). Regarding changing your decking for paving, would you keep it the height that it currently is or are you thinking about leveling the new patio with the rest of the garden (decking looked raised on the picture but maybe i got the wrong impression)? Also, something else to consider is the aspect of your garden (and where the shady and sunny areas are) so that you can determine where you would like to sit, planting sheme etc. If you would like more help, I provide a range of online based garden design services (usually cheaper than in person services) from budget friendly sketches and planting plans only to full on garden plans and 3D visuals.
