Wow, you have done a great job already with your kitchen. You have had so many great ideas re. the wall there isn't anything on that I could add. To solve the problem of the chairs hitting the wall I would either opt for a huge floor to ceiling mirror which would encourage one and all to be careful when leaving their seat or my preferred option would be to replace the chairs on that side with a bench. I'd cover the bench in either shabby chic cushions or a deer or sheepskin rug for comfort and I'd play with table decor. Get chair covers for the redundant chairs and use them in the bedrooms - one in each corner. Then for formal dinner parties or for when the table is extended you simply remove the covers and add them to the table and you can still use the bench if the table is extended.

From what i'm reading, I think you have only two choices on actual brick walls. The one with the cooker is an outside wall isn't it?? .....and then the one with the clock. Totally depends on how much work you want to make for yourself. If you just want to 'dip a toe', then go for the one with the clock. If you want to go all out then do the one with the cooker and hob. However..........and we have done a few of these now........that is Victorian houses...........Lyme plaster is a pain to work with!. Once you touch one bit 10 minutes later you've got a patch 3'x3', then you get bits that feel like they're welded on! Also, we have found on many of the houses that we have done full renovations on, the Victorians were fond of an 'anything goes' brick size approach! So be prepared to unearth allsorts and more importantly, be prepared to have to re-point most , if not all of the brickwork with Lyme mortar and then seal it! It isn't for the feint hearted. Thanks Gina. The 2nd one down is Crushed cotton 1 by Dulux. I do like the combination with blue wall as well as the tiles to be honest. But it's much more pink than grey (although I do keep saying to my partner that it is a pinkish grey to stop him rejecting it :D). I've attached another picture. Yes a mirror is a must on that wall and some artwork too. Have got a gold ornate mirror ready to hung somewhere but not sure if it'll go with the kitchen scheme. We'll see when it comes to it. Dining table a coordinating chairs will hopefully disappear soon once the budget allows new ones :) I can repaint in the meantime I guess. Ok the plan is I'll get few more greige samples and calamine and maybe a lighter shade of Crushed cotton as this one is too pink for my partner to digest I'm afraid :( and the fabric sample.
