Comments (3)Yes that weird wall hanging . That can be removed and we are hoping it will create a more natural flow as currently makes that area much darker. Along itself obviously won’t bring in more natural light but optically might make the place brighter as won’t be there an object . Comments (3)Hi Ruth, I think both ideas could work. Important is to have those lights on a separate switch so you can change the mood in your kitchen. It is sometimes nice in the evening not to switch the main light on. I would also consider instead of spreading this 4 pendant lights evenly, do just a cluster of 3 or 4 in the corner where you will make most use of your worktop. There is also a way to have a pendant light above your island. It is a battery operated rechargeable wireless pendant light. Comments (7)Visualising your colour scheme, I would choose a soft white tile, perhaps Zellige as mentioned above— these tiles are different variations of the same colour . There is a trend at the moment for using quartz continuing up the wall, whilst this can work well, if you wish to avoid that blocky look of a solid slab, tiles can provide a softer finish. In terms of maintenance, if you have an induction hob there will be very little splashing of foodstuffs as this is a gentle way to cook. However, if you are cooking over a flame, I would probably not opt for tiles as there can be a lot of foodstuffs splashing back behind hob.
